Civil Service Commission

Purpose

The Civil Service Commission is an appointed committee that advises the City on compliance with Civil Service Codes. 

This committee also oversees aptitude testing of potential City employees, as written in the City's legislature.   All City positions are filled by candidates who have successfully completed the exam. Tests are administered every two years.

Water Operator I/Wastewater Operator I Exam: July 18, 2020, 9AM
Fire Safety Inspector:  October 2020 (actual date TBD*)
Entry Level Fire Fighter/Paramedic: October 2020 (actual date TBD*)​
​Police Promotional Exam for Detective: November 2020 (actual date TBD*)

*Exam dates will be posted in the Harrison Press.
