As of midnight, Monday, March 23, the City of Harrison is following the new “Stay at Home” orders issued by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine regarding “essential businesses and employees. That means that:
- All businesses deemed non-essential by the State of Ohio are to close by 11:59 p.m. on March 23, and are not to reopen until April 6, or as permitted by the State of Ohio. For information related to Ohio’s determination of essential businesses, please visit this page.
- Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the Harrison Police Department will enforce all local compliance related to Ohio’s “Stay at Home” orders.
- At the end of business day March 23, the City of Harrison Community Center will be closed to the public, until at least April 6.
- City parks are open; however, children’s playgrounds are closed.
- Only essential employees will be working within the Community Center and at other City properties, and only pre-arranged interactions or scheduled deliveries will be permitted.
- The City will not provide income tax filing assistance to residents and no tax documents may be dropped off at the Community Center. The IRS has delayed the mandatory filing until July 15, 2020.
- Meals on Wheels delivery will continue for those seniors already enrolled.
- Payments to the City may be made into the parking lot drop box and into the window slot near the Utility Dept. entrance.
- All Fire and Police Department vehicles are equipped with personal protection equipment (PPE) and will be utilized by personnel as directed.
- For emergency responses, only one Fire Department member will be entering buildings until situations are fully assessed.
- Only the back-up medic vehicle will be used to transport individuals suspected of being affected by COVID-19; the first-line medic vehicle will be only used in non-COVID-19 transports.
- The City Building & Zoning Department will continue with inspections only for construction of school buildings, for new homes already started or plans approved, and health care facilities.
- The City Building & Zoning Department WILL NOT accept plans for home improvements such as decks, patios, pools, fences etc., and work on those items may not begin for those who have not received approved permits as of March 23, 2020.
- Until at least April 6, the City Building & Zoning department will not accept any applications for Home Improvements, Business Change of Use, Zoning Amendments, Variances, or Zoning and Use Approvals.
- The March 24 Board of Zoning Appeals meeting has been cancelled.
- The April 14 Planning Commission meeting has been cancelled.
