At his COVID-19 news conference on Monday, April 27, Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health issued requirements for businesses to gradually open in Ohio. Harrison Mayor Bill Neyer has stated that the community will follow Ohio’s requirements for local business. The following is the State’s announced opening schedule:
- Friday, May 1: Health care facilities are permitted to open, including dentists and veterinarians.
- Monday, May 4: Manufacturing, distribution, construction and general offices may open.
- Tuesday, May 12: Consumer retail and most services are permitted to open.
- Restaurants, salons, gyms, and daycares are not permitted to open until further notice.
Each business sector will also be required to follow safety requirements, including maintaining six feet between people, requiring personnel and guests to wear facial protection at all times, performing daily symptom assessments, requiring employees to stay home if symptomatic, and others.
