JULY 4 FIREWORKS & SUMMER CONCERTS PLANNED

The City will continue some of its summer traditions in 2020, with a few changes.

The Fireworks Will Go On, Parade Plan in the Works
The City of Harrison will have its annual Fourth of July fireworks display. Weather permitting, residents are invited to watch the spectacular show at sunset from the grounds of the Community Center, 300 George Street. However, it will be important to maintain proper social distancing between family units. There are no plans for pre-fireworks entertainment at the site as in years past. As a reminder, residents may also watch the fireworks from parking lots of surrounding retail centers. The City also plans to conduct the Fourth of July parade and hopes to announce a special grand marshal very soon. Mayor Neyer stated that residents could determine their comfort level for attending and would be able to effectively spread out along the parade route. Organizations that wish to participate should complete this parade application by June 22.

A Shift in the Summer Concert Series
The June 2 "My Girl Friday" concert has been postponed to August, with an exact date to be determined. The June 16 and July 7 concerts have been canceled.  The City does plan to host the July 21 Ryan Broshear concert 7 to 9:30 p.m. behind the Community Center. Please watch the City’s social media pages for continued summer updates.
