RESTAURANTS, STORES CHOOSE HARRISON

A growing list of restaurants and stores are choosing Harrison for their business.

In the historic downtown district, the Harrison Planning Commission has approved six new businesses in 2020. The Drunken Hog BBQ at 102 Harrison Avenue is expected to open by the end of 2020. The business will feature a food service window that will complement the services at 1860 Taproom & Bottleshop, which has been in business one year. The Valley House Restaurant at 301 Harrison Avenue is expected to open in early 2021 and will have an outdoor patio in the rear. An ice cream shop called Clash of the Cones is already serving scoops from their walk-up at 116 S. State Street.

Along New Haven Road, Harrison residents are enjoying a new United Dairy Farmers location at 10400 New Haven Road as well as Five Guys Burgers and Fries at 609 Ring Road.

New stores that have opened in Harrison this year are:
Zippy’s Lawn Care at 709 Harrison Avenue (offers planters and lawn ornaments)
Carle Signs at 130 Harrison Avenue (T-shirt and sign shop)
Lydia Jane Apothetique at 217 Harrison Avenue (formerly Two Friends Boutique)
Rustic Outpost at 1124 Harrison Avenue (thrift shop)
Hallmarked Restorations at 409 Dair Avenue (formerly U.S. Shoe Factory)
Danielle’s Salon and Boutique at 1150 Harrison Avenue

Other businesses planning to open soon include:
Nail Salon at 10548 Harrison Avenue
West Oak and Iron at 419 Harrison Avenue (custom furniture)
