Harrison's Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) will officially open Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020 at 5 p.m. In the DORA, patrons can sip adult beverages as they stroll the main thoroughfare in the City's historic downtown district.
Businesses in The District worked with the City to plan the DORA and put in place requirements such as signs and designated cups. The State of Ohio approved the plans in September.
The DORA is expected to bring increased foot traffic to the area, supporting local businesses and jobs. Diners, shoppers and visitors will purchase designated DORA cups at participating businesses, which so far include 1860 Taproom & Bottleshop, Coffee Peddlar, Heist + Co., Market Street Grille and Harrison Moose Lodge 2633. DORA patrons must stay within the boundaries and observe other rules, including designated hours.
Due to State of Ohio COVID-19 mandates, these are Harrison's DORA hours as of Oct. 12, 2020:
- Thursdays 5 to 10 p.m.
- Fridays 5 to 10 p.m.
- Saturdays noon to 10 p.m.
- Sundays noon to 9 p.m.
