With the end of summer in sight, Harrisonians still have several opportunities to celebrate the season. Economic Developer Shannon Hamons described upcoming events on Hello Harrison, a show airing on Time Warner channels 15 (Spectrum) and 845 (Cincinnati Bell). The show is also available to watch on Facebook and YouTube.

Cruise-In August 13
The Harrison Recreation Commission is hosting Harrison’s first official cruise-in August 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Three blocks of Harrison Avenue in the City’s historic district will be closed so that visitors can enjoy looking at classic and muscle cars. People will also be able to enjoy the DORA, live music, and shop local businesses. The Harrison Branch Library will have a Hotwheels race track for kids.
Community Market August 28
The Historic Harrison Community Market is August 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Market is set up in the Harrison Fire Department parking lot, 200 Harrison Avenue. Vendors typically offer locally produced honey and other food items, fresh flowers and crafts. During this time, some downtown businesses will also be open for shopping and Sunday brunch. This event is coordinated by a local volunteer.
Taste of Harrison September 10
One of Harrison’s beloved traditions has become Taste of Harrison. The annual event is Sept. 10 and is expected to draw thousands of visitors to the City’s historic downtown. The District, an association of local businesses, is coordinating this event. There will be food, drinks and live music.
These local events are also listed on the City Calendar.
