For 10 years, the City of Harrison has empowered people to provide anonymous tips through a tool called tip411.
“Hundreds of crimes would have gone unsolved if we didn’t have tip411,” said City of Harrison Police Chief Charles Lindsey.
Car break-ins, car thefts, assaults, and robberies are counted among the wins.
The Police Department is reminding people to utilize tip411 as soon as possible when they witness a crime. The anonymous tip is immediately provided to Chief Lindsey, the Department’s two detectives, and the on-duty supervisor.
A simple form with three questions can be submitted via desktop or mobile. Users have the option to upload photos. A mobile app called “HPDTip” is also available by scanning the QR code or searching for “Harrison Ohio tip411” in App Store or Play Store.
The Department is also providing a flier that can be posted to help people use tip411.
The Police Department employs 24 full-time officers, two police clerks and one clerk of courts.
