COMMERCE CENTER WILL BRING BUSINESSES AND JOBS


A $35-million project is expected to bring about 150 new job opportunities into the City of Harrison. The Harrison Commerce Center will include a 534,055 square foot warehouse and distribution center with support offices.

A Message From Mayor Neyer: HARRISON IS MOVING FORWARD


The City will experience positive changes this year with a “can-do” attitude all over town.

In addition to Hillwood’s large project, many other meaningful developments will get underway. JTM, Harrison’s largest employer with over 600 associates, will undertake a $50 million expansion to add manufacturing capacity and additional local employment. The City, JobsOhio, HCDC and REDI Cincinnati are helping this project become reality.

You may have already seen the new Starbucks near the I-74 interchange. That is just the beginning of a long list of retail developments expected in 2022. READ MORE

CITY WELCOMES FOUR NEW EMPLOYEES


The City of Harrison has welcomed four new employees to fill recent vacancies. A full staff directory is available here. 


Kim Downey
Kim Downey was named finance director in October 2021. Under her management, the Finance Department oversees the City's $21 million budget, handles all the City's finances and and administers payroll and benefits for more than 100 employees. Her previous experience includes working as audit manager at Ohio Auditor of State as well as working as an accountant and governmental auditor for private accounting firms. Downey has also served as community coordinator for Crosby Township and as a board of education member for Southwest Local School District. She is a graduate of Harrison High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Georgetown College.
Officer Christopher Brausch
Christoper Brausch previously worked as a police officer for the City of Forest Park and has been a certified Ohio peace officer since 2014. He earned a bachelor's degree at Ohio University and graduated from Colerain High School.
Officer Nicole Dennis
Nicole Dennis was previously employed at the Colerain Township Police Department and has been a certified Ohio peace officer since 2016. She earned a bachelor's degree at Northern Kentucky University and graduated from Oak Hills High School.
Officer Eric Gregory
Eric Gregory previously worked as a park ranger for Hamilton County Park District. He has been a certified Ohio peace officer since 2005. Gregory earned an associate's degree from Hocking College and graduated from Oak Hills High School.

NEW CITY COUNCIL REPS TAKE THEIR SEATS


Harrison voters elected two new representatives and re-elected Ryan Grubbs and Mike Mains to City Council at the November election. 

Lexis Dole was appointed to Council earlier in the year and secured her seat for four years during the election. She is a lifelong resident, earned a bachelor's degree and works as an operations manager. 

Jerry Wilson was also appointed to Council in December, after winning a seat in the election. He has been a Harrison resident since 1950 and serves as National Vice Commander of the American Legion.

City Council consists of seven members who convene twice per month. All members of Council are elected for overlapping terms of four years, with an election held every two years. Tony Egner, Ryan Samuels and Jean Wilson are also serving on Council for 2022. 
The first City Council meeting of the year is January 4, 2022.
