StoryWalk at Harrison Community Center

The first story on display is called "We Are Water Protectors."



STORYWALK® INSTALLED AT HARRISON COMMUNITY CENTER

The half-mile, paved walking path at Harrison Community Center (300 George St.) has a story to tell. In fact, it will tell many new stories each year.

Harrison resident and Troop 408 Boy Scout Elijah Dean installed a StoryWalk® project in December. There are 20 podiums along the path, each with a wooden display case depicting parts of an illustrated story. READ MORE

WINTER WEATHER
Did you know the City plows and salts 45 miles of public roads and parking lots? Please do not park on the street if snow is forecast.

WATER SOFTENER
It's time to bypass or adjust your home water softener. The City installed a reverse osmosis water softener.

CITY MEETINGS
City Council, Planning Commission, and other committee meetings are happening monthly. Visit the City Calendar online for a schedule.

NEW MEMBERS WELCOME AT SENIOR CENTER

The Harrison Senior Center 2023 calendar includes activities like crocheting, light exercise, euchre and other card games. Bingo is a popular activity every Tuesday and Friday.

HARRISON CITIZEN SPOTLIGHT

Help the City of Harrison shine a spotlight on our most outstanding citizens! You can nominate your neighbor, family member or someone else who embodies what it means to have a positive impact on the community. Nominees may be of any age but must be a resident of the City of Harrison. Selected citizens will be recognized on the City's Facebook page. To make a nomination, click here. 

HARRISON NAMES FIRST FEMALE DETECTIVE

The City of Harrison Police Department promoted Tara Duganiero to detective corporal in October. She was hired as a police officer in 2016 and has been a certified Ohio Police Officer since 2011. She is the first woman to earn the rank of detective corporal with Harrison Police.

HARRISON ROADS GETTING SOME LOVE

Throughout the City of Harrison, repairs are planned to improve traffic and pedestrian safety in 2023.
 
A complete reconstruction of Park Avenue, from Jefferson to State streets, began in October 2022. The West Road overpass will get sidewalks and a crosswalk will be installed at Harrison Avenue. READ MORE


Don't forget Valentines Day is February 14! There are no holidays impacting the City Calendar in January or February.
